Invisible LAN Operating
System
for Windows 95 and 98
Version 4.00K
This is the Windows 95 and 98 version of the Invisible LAN Operating System.
The Windows 95/98 version supports almost any Ethernet or Token Ring board that has a Windows 95 or 98 protected-mode driver. This includes boards manufactured by Invisible Software, and boards manufactured by other companies.
This software includes support for all released builds of Windows 95 and Windows 98.
The Invisible LAN operating system has many features, including:
The software available on this web site can be used in two ways: (a) to set up a new installation of Invisible LAN; and (b) to upgrade an earlier version of the Invisible LAN software to version 4.00K. We give instructions below for each of these possibilities.
Note: Unlike earlier versions of Invisible LAN for Windows 95, there are no longer separate versions for Adapter Dependent and Adapter Independent installations. When using a network adapter manufactured by another company, it is no longer necessary to have a serial number, and the program SETUP_AI is no longer required.

Instructions -- To Upgrade
Here is how to upgrade to version 4.00K, if you have an existing installation of the Invisible LAN Operating System for Windows 95 and 98.
The upgrade process overwrites your existing Invisible LAN files with the version 4.00K files. Your existing network settings and security system are preserved through the upgrade.
Note: This upgrade can be used with both Adapter Dependent (AD) and Adapter Independent (AI) versions of the Invisible LAN software.
Instructions -- Patch for Windows 98 Second Edition
If you are running Windows 98 Second Edition, you should also install this patch.
The patch replaces two of the Invisible LAN driver files with new versions.
Note: This patch should be used only with Invisible LAN version 4.00K.
